Every day, truck drivers move the goods that people and businesses rely on. They work through changing weather, tight schedules, long stretches away from home, and the unpredictable realities of the road. For those outside of the industry, it’s easy to take their work for granted until you understand how much depends on it.

At Flock Freight, we see the skill and commitment behind every successful pickup and delivery. This week is about the driver at the wheel, but we also can’t forget the support from dispatchers, carrier owners and operations teams who coordinate constantly to keep freight moving. During Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people behind those miles and the partnerships that make the work possible.

The partnerships behind the freight

The best way to recognize this work is to share the stories we hear from the people who work with carriers every day. Here are a few examples from the Flock Freight team.

“It’s great that I can trust Nycee and Jame at Tighten up Trucking. They’re active on our load board, punctual, and overall awesome to work with. I never have to worry about them being on time or issues with seals. We ask a lot of our carriers and they handle it all. We even just chat here and there about general things. They brighten up my day every day that I talk to them. I’m happy to continue working with them.” - Gerlich, Carrier Success Associate at Flock Freight

“I’ve been working with DC Transportation Services for close to 5 years now and am grateful to have been given the opportunity to do so. When they take a load from me, I don’t think twice about it. Their communication is great and they pick and deliver on time. As the years have gone on, it feels more like I am calling my friends rather than a client.” — Conner, Strategic Carrier Account Manager at Flock Freight

Jose A Gonzalez has been a reliable and valued carrier partner. We appreciate the team’s willingness to support load coverage and recovery needs, coordinate around changing pickup and delivery details, and keep operational information moving through the Flock workflow. Most importantly, they are easy to work with, responsive when details need to change, and proficient at using the Flock platform to manage load information and updates.” — Eber, Carrier Account Manager at Flock Freight

Just Cargo Xpress is great to work with. The dispatchers, Anna and Claudia, are courteous and value their relationship with us. They do everything they can to meet their pick and delivery times. I see them as my coworkers because we always work together to help each other out. Anytime there is an issue, it’s very easy to resolve with them and they have great values.” — Rachael, Carrier Development Representative at Flock Freight

These stories are only a small sample of the professionalism, flexibility and partnership that drivers and carrier teams bring to the network every day. They show what strong relationships look like in practice: clear communication, follow-through, problem-solving and a willingness to work together when conditions change.

A changing market makes every mile matter

This year, the freight market has entered a new phase. Our 2026 Market Watch coverage has tracked an inflationary rate cycle, tighter truckload capacity, fuel volatility, and early signs of demand returning. In that environment, every mile, appointment and clear communication matters. Carriers are balancing more pressure and more opportunity, and their reliability and judgment help keep the network moving.

Shared Truckload is one way to make those miles more productive. By combining compatible shipments in the same trailer, carriers can improve trailer utilization and earn more from the space and miles they are already driving. That creates value for carriers while helping shippers manage rising freight costs and reduce waste.

To every driver, dispatcher and carrier team: thank you for the early mornings, long days, difficult appointments and countless miles. Thank you for keeping freight moving and for the care you bring to work that touches every community. We’re grateful to work alongside you during Truck Driver Appreciation Week and every week after.
